Expense Tracker Template

Regularly keeping track of your spending can help you see where your money is going and break any unnecessary spending patterns.

With this tracker, you can view recent, monthly, or yearly expenses, group expenses by custom categories, and log your daily expenses from anywhere.

Quick Action Table:

You can also start your Expense Tracker template with a Quick Action table for easy data entry. It includes New Expense, New Category, and New Account.




New Expense

  • Amount (for Expenses): for a new expense, include a column for the expense amount.
  • Category (for Expenses): For new expenses, link the action to a specific expense category.
  • Account (for Expenses): For new expenses, link the action to a specific Amount.
  • Date and Month Include a column for the date and Month of the action.
  • Receipt It also includes expense receipts.
  • Created Time This Category will also show the created date of the new expense

New Category

  • For adding a new category, use the "New Category" row and set the Total Expense.



New Account

  • To create a new financial account, use the "New Account" option and input the starting balance, Total Balance, and Current Balance.

Category

Section in the Expense Tracker template is designed to add and manage different expense categories, here's how you can structure it:

Category Name:

  • This column is for the names of different expense categories, such as Travel, Shopping, Entertainment, etc.

Total Expense:

  • Include a column to add Total Expense for each category.



Accounts

In Accounts section of Expense Tracker template, having categories like Bank, Card, Cash, and PayPal

When you have a new bank account, credit card, cash transaction, or PayPal account, add a new entry in the "Accounts" table with the corresponding category.

For Example




Bank

This category likely represents your bank accounts.

Bank accounts are common for managing day-to-day expenses, savings, and handling transactions.

It Includes Initial Balance, Total Expense, Current Balance etc.  




Expenses

The purpose of this table is to organize and categorize information related to all the expenses When you have a new expense, enter the details in the "Expenses" table, including the expense name, date, amount, payment method, linked category, and any relevant notes.

  • Expense Name: This column is for the name or description of the expense. It helps you quickly identify the purpose of each transaction.
  • Date: Record the date when the expense occurred. This is essential for tracking spending over time and analyzing trends.
  • Month: Create a column to automatically extract the month from the date. This allows you to aggregate and analyze expenses on a monthly basis.
  • Amount: Specify the amount of the expense. This is a crucial detail for understanding the financial impact of each transaction.
  • Payment Method: Include a column to record the payment method used for each expense. This could be by Bank, Cash, Credit Card, Debit Card, PayPal, etc.
  • Category: Link each expense to a specific category from your "Categories" table. This helps in categorizing and organizing your spending.
  • Receipt: If applicable, include a column for attaching receipts or relevant documents related to each expense. Not all expenses may have receipts, but it can be useful for reference.

 Reports

Reports "Reports" section in Expense Tracker template includes monthly records

  • Month: List the months in this column to organize the records.
  • Total Expenses: Record the total expenses incurred during each month. This provides a snapshot of your overall spending for that period.
  • Balance: Include a column to track your financial balance at the end of each month. This balance is the result of subtracting total expenses from your income or initial balance.
  • Budget: Specify the budget for each month. This is the amount you have allocated or planned to spend within that specific time frame.


Coupons

The coupons section will display all your coupon codes along with their respective stores and expiry dates
