Team Directory Template
Understanding a little bit more about the people you're working with can have a big impact on team morale, initiative, and communications—especially in remote teams. A basic staff directory with some creative prompts for the personal bio can occasionally be the spark that opens the door for a new internal contact.
We'll go over how to add a basic Notion Employee Directory template to your team's Notion workspace in this post. If you're worried about team member limits, you can link team members to different projects, tasks, and documents if you're already comfortable with related properties. This is even possible if they haven't received an email invitation to your Notion workspace.
Role Title
You may populate this space with your team members' most recent roles so that everyone is aware of any changes occurring within the company and knows who to contact for what.
Division
You can choose from a list of pre-set options, such as marketing, legal, product, and accounting, using the department property. After adding your own departments to the list, label the members of your team with the appropriate department.
Employment status & type
Full-time, part-time, contractor, and employee are the options available in the drop-down menu for employment type. You can combine these to provide a more accurate description of each team member's working relationship.
In order to show whether a member is presently active, on vacation, ill, etc., you can also choose their status.
Joined date
The date joined property is a date field where you can enter the date that each member of the team joined the organization.
On birthdays
The birthday property doubles as a date field where you can enter the birthday of every member of the team. This can be entertaining for organizing an office party ahead of time or for sending out automated happy birthday messages on the actual day!
Email address to reach
To keep track of each team member's work email address, use the contact email property. I'll also add that you can mention people in comments and notes throughout your workspace by using the "@" symbol and their name while they're in Notion (as long as they've been invited to the workspace).
Personal Bio:
individual bio with the personal bio listed inside the Notion card object, each team member has the opportunity to provide a brief introduction of themselves. To help people get started, we've added a few prompts. However, you are welcome to remove these and add your own.
You can also use the sort and filter options to view your team in different ways. For example, you could filter by department or employment status, or sort by date joined or birthday.
